Alon Liel calls on EU to recognise Palestine

Alon Liel, former Director of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently thanked the Swedish Prime Minister and government for their decision to recognise Palestine, saying this should be a starting point for negotiations rather than the prize. This approach, he argues, merely perpetuates the Occupation which he describes as “the gravest threat” facing Israel today. The former Israeli ambassador to South Africa also called on EU states to follow Sweden on Palestine. Read his full piece in the EU Observer.
