Alon Liel, former Director of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently thanked the Swedish Prime Minister and government for their decision to recognise Palestine, saying this should be a starting point for negotiations rather than the prize. This approach, he argues, merely perpetuates the Occupation which he describes as “the gravest threat” facing Israel today.
